Sponsoring TJRacing
If you’ve been paying keen attention to our social media channels of late, you’ll be aware that we sponsor local karting talent, Thomas Rathbone (@TJRacing20).
Thomas is an 8-year-old driver, aiming to break into the motorsports arena. From Hyde, Greater Manchester, Thomas is a bright talent with a keen passion for Karting and Formula 1.
Due to the local connection, we’ve been following Thomas on his journey through the ranks, ensuring adequate support through social coverage and of course some well-earned sponsorship. We currently have helped facilitate social media and digital services for TJRacing, along with some sponsored material such as TJRacing branded flags and gazebo. Why not check out his branded helmet and race suit. They look rather brilliant, even if we do say so ourselves.

Our Chief Executive, Dave Stevenson had this to say on the ongoing partnership: “As an automotive marketing agency, we’re always open to discussions on brand activations. Having been approached by Gavin Rathbone, Thomas’s dad, our obvious interest in motorsport, lead to a conversation about Total Karting Zero, and the opportunity it gives young drivers. It felt like the perfect opportunity to support Thomas and his family in their future endeavours. The fact that Total Karting Zero is a fully electric race series adds even more value to the overall relationship.”
Thomas currently races in the Total Karting Zero Northern Championships and in September 2022, is leading the championship with one round remaining. So far Thomas has had a tremendous journey, he has had some great highs through this season winning his last 8 races, sitting in a favourable position to be crowned Northern champion, before heading off for the national final where he can also target the national championship.
His development this season has excelled expectations following a respectable 5th place finish in his debut season last year.
Total Karting Zero is a Karting/Racing program which has been developed by legendary Ferrari engineer Rob Smedley. After 25 years in Formula 1, Robs passion for creating a more inclusive sport is clear to see.
As Rob and his family know from their experience, karting isn’t just about racing, it’s about a sport that helps kids find confidence, resilience and most importantly – respect. It’s a sport that can bring families together to create exciting moments, and memories that will last forever and why he’s on a mission to make motorsport more accessible to a wider group of people. Traditionally karting is expensive and environmentally dirty, but the new electric karts from Total Karting Zero its cleaner, cheaper, fairer, and faster (https://totalkartingmotorsport.com/).
This sort of sustainability attracted us more into investing time into promoting Thomas. As Thomas is only at the beginning of his career there is an abundance of opportunities available for his future.
Whether the future holds Circuit Racing, Touring, or even Rallying the exposure these sports bring, will inevitably elevate his profile.
Total Karting Zero is undoubtedly the place for future motorsport drivers. With F1 committed to carbon zero by 2030, these young drivers will have the advantage of being educated in electric racing from the start. It’s not surprising therefore that media attention is focused on the journey of these young drivers, having already featured on Sky Sports and ITV, plans are in place for Total Karting Zero to launch a YouTube Channel in the imminent future.
With such potential coverage available it is a great opportunity for sponsors to support Thomas at this early part of his journey and benefit from the great potential of his future.
Be sure to contact Gavin Rathbone to find out more about sponsorship opportunities.
