Tell us about yourself and how you ended up as the Rhino Finance Director.
I have been working within finance for a little over 10 years having acted in both commercial and corporate roles. Laughably, I stumbled upon Rhino entirely by accident, having been sent to the wrong company for interview complete with an incorrect job spec!
However, I left the building confident I wanted a future on the Rhino team.
What does your role entail?
The expectant answer is “numbers, lots of numbers!”
I am tasked with overseeing all financial activities including reporting on revenue, meeting statutory requirements, budgeting, disbursing funds to departments, managing risk, implementing policies, improving financial processes and internal controls.
What do you enjoy the most about what you do?
The formal answer…. My position being a central office function allows me to collaborate and liaise with all departments and staff within the Rhino team. This allows me a privileged overview of the business activities.
The informal answer… As a company we love to celebrate just about everything! Which of course entails lots of cake!
How do you like to start your day?
Caffeine… lots of caffeine.
If you could switch roles with someone for a day, who would it be?
Linda, our European Sales Manager.
I love the images she shares from travelling across Europe for her position.
That, alongside her impressive collection of languages to attempt, would be a good day.
What are your passions outs of work?
I am a busy working mum of 3 so I spend a lot of my “free” time attending sports clubs and activity groups. I like to get involved with the odd handstand attempt and badminton session too :).
And Disney. Disney is my happy place.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
At an event when I was 10, I asked my godmother to tell Eric Cantona to leave me alone… because I could not understand his accent and I would have preferred if he had been a spice girl. I’m not proud.
