Tell us a little bit about your role and the role of the Marketing Account Manager at Rhino?

My role as Account Manager is to facilitate a close working relationship with our clients. I take great pride in understanding their requirements, providing solutions, strategy and areas for improvement alongside a keen focus on meeting their specific business objectives. From concept to completion, I manage key projects, spanning across both digital and offline marketing, working directly with our studio and production team. The key aim is to ensure that all projects run smoothly, on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of our clients.

What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing?

I really enjoyed art at school, but never thought I’d pursue it in much detail after completing my GCSE’s. Marketing is an art and creativity itself is very much about expressing ideas in new ways, stepping outside of the box and is defined by the way explore ideas and use different ways to solve issues. That is what I love. I love coming up with new ideas, exploring possibilities and being able to get creative with how to engage with a product, an audience, and to create a story that inevitably leads to a specific objective; be it an enquiry or a sale. I’ve never been a salesperson – my strength is engaging a marketing strategy.

What drew you to the role at Rhino?

I was actually recruiting for Rhino at the time (I worked as a recruitment consultant before)! Ultimately, I was liaising with the team about filling a specific role, and I had an in depth understanding of the business, the team and the environment. It seemed like the perfect role for me. The rest is history as they say.

What motivates you in your career?

Helping people! My job is to ultimately help people achieve their objectives and one of my biggest motivators is seeing client projects come to life.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A lot of phone calls!!
Taking briefs from clients.
Proofing artwork.
Strategy planning for clients.
Proposals (sometimes!)
Client Meetings.
Performance reviews.

What is the biggest professional challenge you have had to overcome?

The role can be very challenging at times, as client expectations often rest on my shoulders. I’m their very first point of contact, involved in their day-to-day operations and as such when things aren’t necessarily going to plan, it’s difficult not to take it personally. It is personal. It’s a direct reflection on me, and I take a lot of pride in that.

If you could switch roles with someone for a day, who would it be?

Lee Higgins – Founder and Managing Director. I would love to see what running the business day to day is like! 😊

Can you give us a little insight into your passions outside of work?

In case you didn’t know….. Fitness.
If I’m not working, I’m most likely working out or running one of the 5 fitness classes I run every week.

Tell us something interesting about yourself.

I worked at the Paralympics when it was held in London 2012 – I had all the uniform and everything!

I also run my own online fitness business.

Slow walkers….
